Carmel, IL near the Friendsville Coal Mine in Maud. The driver survived and was airlifted to Evansville, IN. The train crew were ok. Originally NS planned to bring in a rescue locomotive out of Princeton, IN, however the battery was dead and the unit failed to start. After 5 hours they finally brought in a new crew who took the damaged train to Princeton, IN. |
